Despite their robust exterior and wild behavior, Bull Terriers fare very poorly with "top down" type training.  Aversive, "correction" or "Pack Leader" type training will often backfire and cause aggression in Bull Terriers, so it's super important to find a trainer you can trust.

Here are  good trainers in the greater NJ area that are known to us use purely reinforcement-based training.  These are the ones we recommend to our puppy owners!

All that having been said, it is always up to you to advocate for your dog and make sure that ANY training technique suggested will not do your dog any harm.
